| In these chapters we see how Emma is resistant to all of the roles in her life. She is pregnant, but bucks being pregnant and her female child, when she sees that she won't gain from it.
She is bonding with Leon, and they seem to encourage each other's fascination with fantasy and their dissatisfaction with reality. | |

| I thought that the relationship would be good with Leon. It would give her that romantic stimulation so she could have a better life with her husband. Needless to say, it isn't going in that direction.
Emma was not one of my favorite characters, because her whole life was a search for something that she hasn't found. | |
