Here we see just how the brotherhood pulls the narrators trings. He is becoing too powerful, something he was warned about in an onomous letter. They want him gone, at least away from harlem so the send him downtown to help with the womens movment. he does just as well down there though he does get entangled with a woman briefly that looks like it might end badly. He also has a long talk with Brother Tarp which helps bring the reader back to reality. What an interesting story he told. Do you think he wrote the annomous note?
