| K seems to have a little more courage and fires his lawyer. He also finds out the this man named "Block" has been dealing with this for five years. He has been visiting the courts every day for five years.

| K. plans to fire his lawyer and proceed on ahead with out him. He is waiting to speak with him when a man named Block, who has been at this for five years now, tells him about his struggles. K. realizes what his life may become. Block is humiliated by the judge and Leni. K. doesn't know what makes them different, if his case is just newer, extrordinary, etc.
