| This is already starting to confuse me. The Mr. "K" is accused at his boarding house. He has an odd relationship with his neighbor.
This book is starting out in the setting that "Crime & Punishment" was in. I find it odd that K. has to try and re-enact the scene with the neighbor girl. Does it really matter? | |

| K. seems to be a well established man with a career in banking and a room at a boarding house. One morning he is arrested, but for what we don't know. Interestingly he is allowed to continue on with his day to day activities, in spite of this arrest. We are as uncertain as K. as to what is going on, who has arrested him, and why. We also see K's worry about what others will think of him, and how his interactions with his neighbors and co workers will continue. | |
