What does K want to say to Bursten?
What does this have to do with this "going no where" plot?

This chapter seems irrelevant to the novel so far (and in the future according to SparkNotes). I wanted to believe that K. had some attachment to his neighbor, but it seems to go no where at this point. The other character seems like she could play a role in the novel, but just disappears after this chapter (according to SN). | |
