| This chapter reminded me about the context of the author. Gatsby has had to prove his wealth to Daisy, so that she will even consider him, so he shows her the house, pulls out all of his clothing, and anything else that will convince her. We see that everything he does or has, is to impress her.
Nick's role is odd, as he facilitates multiple meetings between the couples, he is often a third wheel that is just hanging around. | |

| I think Nick really admired Gatsby and wanted to see him happy. No matter how Gatsby made his money or his motive for getting back with Daisy, the undercurrent was that Gatsby was a good guy. It was sad to me, to see his gestures of showing Daisy around the house it that very kid like way that seemed to say 'see me, love me, i'm good enough' Nick knew too, about toms affair and may have hoped to facilitate romance and happiness for Daisy as well. | |

| I'm glad to see that Daisy might have a chance at happiness. As we have seen, there have been so many woman who have to suck it up and not persue their personal happiness for "society." | |
