Tom Sawyer devises a gang in which a bunch of the boyssneak out and meet, pledge an oath of loyalty to one another and decide to ransom men to death. it is fun but kid like and Huckle berry loses interest when what tom called 'Ahrabs and elephants' was just a bunch of little sunday school kids. Note the reference to Don Quixote and imagination!

As we already know, back then they used "classic" literature for entertainment. That is where they got their characters and imagination from. I bet it was kinda cool. Banding together and pretending you were in an Arab Caravan pilfering.

I guess the classics could have been fun for kids back then.

Chapters 2-3:

I really noticed the difference between Huck and Tom in these chapters. Both of them enjoy being rowdy boys, but Huck doesn't understand many of the imaginary games. We see how tainted he is by his abusive upbringing.
