| Chapters 41-44:
Isabel continues to have conflict with her husband and his rigid rules. At the ball she suddenly seems to realize that helping Warburton could in the end condem Pansy to a life similar to her own marriage. Hopefully she sticks with this.
We hear that rumors have started about Warburton and Isabel, though she seems to still be struggling as to what his true intentions are, the gossip circle has already been spreading the word.
Hopefully Henrietta, Goodwood and Osmund's sister will give Isabel a little strength to do what is right. | |

| It still amazes me that all the other characters are supporting Isabel and she still seems to make terrible decisions. I still can't grasp where she got the strength of character. She was so blind to the fact that she didn't have any money and now she's just as niave that she has some. She doesn't realize Osmond wants her money. | |
