Book 1 Chapters 10-12

Lily continues to desire a place in the upper crust of society, yet she often dislikes spending time with these people. Interestingly she doesn't think she can marry Seldon because he isn't wealthy enough, yet he is invited to all of the high society events.
Mr. Trenor, who seemed like a nice guy with a crush, has become an angry man who expects more from Lily than she is willing to give.
(I want to say the plot thickens but I'll have to stick with my last comment...pure fluff)

I think this is another peek into society and all their behaviors in manners of society. I think it is fluffy too Kelley.

Lilly clearly represents a facade to all of those around her. She works very hard to look perfect and to place herself in the best light and poses.No mattter how she looks, she still ust contend with the rumors about her carelessness with cards gambling debts and capriciousness with other men. Her number one goal is to not be poor or 'dingy'. she doesn't see that Seldon, while not at the top of the crowd, is accepted and does ok for himself. She has set her goal way too high considering she is penniless and pushing 30.
