| The boys run away to be pirates after an insult to each of them. They play and enjoy having no adult figures or authority. Eventually the boys miss home and want to go back and see their families, and see if they are missed.  | |

| what a more carefree life the boys seem to have had vs todays growing boys. If boys were missing any time at all, these days, the police would be all over it! | |

| I think this is why I liked the story of Tom better. The carefree life that they had during most of the book. | |
