| Wilson and Henry's friendship and bond deepen, they fight together ferociously, and calmly sit together in wait. I agree with sparknotes that at the beginning of this section Henry is fighting against his shame, but by the end he is fighting as a soldier. | |

| Henry gets jeered at when he continues to fight and everyone else has stopped. The commander does tell us that he would rather have 100 wild cats like him and they would win the war. Maybe this is his inner drive of courage. | |

| henry has a way of taking himself inand out of the present moment. He is just a kdi and using whatever coping skills he has. he still has boy like fantasies of being a hero and the words of the leutenant skoke that memory. | |
