| This was a fun few chapters. Chivalry vs. scholars. They debate that a bit then the chapter goes on to what starts to be the beginning of a joke. "You have a soldier, a priest and a sailor." Ok back to the book, Cervantes is bringing out another way that chivalry is not dead. Chivalry minded people can be very intelligent also. In the analysis Cervantes is still promoting romance and idealizing the woman. Throughout this book he finds many ways to support this notion. | |

| I find it odd that the other character's stories are becoming the main focus of the book, and it seems DQ has taken a backseat. The captive's story, though interesting and related to Cervantes' ideas on chivalry, doesn't seem very relevant to what is happening with DQ. It almost seems as if these 'extra stories' are thrown in to spice up the story line, that is slowing down a bit.?? | |
