if the author had allowed Christian and Christiana to venture forth with their family, together? Was he suggesting that the male had more faith and that christiana could only go once she thought it was do-able?

I think that is a good point, Christina was very weak, and seemed that she was more of a vessel for her family. She seemed to help many other people begin and continue on the journey, to overcome their weaknesses, but she herself, didn't seem to grow much as a person.

It would be interesting to see how it would have been different if they had traveled together.
