| These chapters have many twists. First Una finds out what separated Kit and Giles. Am I to assume that Giles loved Kit so much that he wanted and got him physically. Then Kit in his madness wanted Una in the same way. That was shocking. It was foreshadowing when they said that they all three seemed married together. Poor Una has two crosses to bear; the one heinous act on the whaleboat the the one in her bed with Kit. I have so much sympathy for her. She is carrying around a lot of guilt and discontent. She also has to watch her husband in the Hurricane House going mad. | |

| Oh poor Una, what an ordeal to try to be faithful to a man that has gone mad. They are bound by their guilt, and he is crazy with his anger. | |

| Doesn't that really get ya. Somewhere later in the book it stated that men at sea sometimes turned to their mates for physical satisfaction, not emotional satisfaction. Maybe Giles crossed the line. | |
