Ok we are reading this one out of order, and then we will return to Saul Bellow.

I loved this book. It is my new favorite! I will go back and post on the chapters. I have the Saul Bellow and am about 1/4 through it. One hundred years was really interesting

I think that the more familiar I become with Latin history, the more layers this novel will have for me. This is definitely one that needs to be reread at different periods through out my life.

I really liked the story itself. I had to continually go back to the foraward and remind myself how people were connected but i liked the s t o r y ! I tried to thin about where in the world this was to be taking place and I finally decided Spain//Portigul. What did you think? I ay have just grabbed that because of the author and the characters names. At first I thought it was taking place near the beginning of time, then maybe in the 1200's, but obviously if we got to movies, etc... well...... Especially if this all took place 100 years. How ould the people be so isiolated!?

I was thinking the same location. But i agree it was hard to tell tiem period because of the isoloation.
