| Oh poor Winston, O'Brien has him completely snowed. In these chapters they meet up with O'Brien who is everything that Winston thought or hoped he would be. The pair show absolutly no caution in meeting with him, which is unlike both of their characters. | |

| I think that Winton already had his mind made up about this guy. Then after having a successful affair with Julia e really threw caution to thte winds. You could snese that he was becoming stronger and stronger in his conviction that proles were people and had real feeling and the the government people were the automons. | |
